Thalia Sablon “Born in Haiti and raised in Queens, New York, I have my mother’s tongue and a New York accent”. Thalia earned her MFA in playwriting at Rutgers University. Her work bends reality juuussstttt enough to expose its theatricality while staying rooted in real-world struggles. She disrupts linear storytelling, treating time as something fluid, looping, slipping, and overlapping between past and present (sometimes future). In her work, Thalia tries not to hide from the awkward, the uncomfortable, or the unresolved—whether it’s workplace solidarity, community resistance, or the dissonance of being in a body. When she isn’t writing or producing, she is trying hard not to wreak havoc around New York.
